The String Academy is open to students ages 5-18 who wish to study the violin, viola, and cello through a curriculum that includes private and group lessons, theory and master classes, chamber music, and performance opportunities. Our program is based on the teaching of master violin educators Mimi Zweig, Shinichi Suzuki, and Paul Rolland. Parents are central to the beginning years of study; they attend all lessons and support daily practice.

Students may register for Summer I, Summer II, or both Summer I & II sessions. Lessons may be scheduled directly with the private lesson teacher (flexible dates).  Students may not register for fewer than four Summer lessons.

Led by Ashley Hall’s championship-winning volleyball coach, Franny Rivers Slay ’80, summer participants in this popular program learn fundamental volleyball skills such as proper serving, passing, setting, and hitting techniques. Offensive and defensive strategies are also introduced. Sessions feature age-appropriate instruction for all.
